Farscape is one of my favorite sci-fi shows too...The action, drama, wide array of aliens, and (yes) those little comedic moments kept me glued to the set. Excellent piece of fanart you did...Yes, John and Aeryn do make a great couple.
Ohhh, girlfriend, I luv you to pieces! Thank you sooo much for that compliment. Hey! Have you seen any South Korean Drama? Well, that's my craze right now. I am soooo addicted to it. It's got romance, action, comedy, family tension, love, maliciousness, bullying, great acts of kindness, pompous behavior and whatever else. I even put it in the same category as Farscape in terms of angst, entertainment, surprises, cultural differences, freshness and gut-wrenching scenes.
Don't want to force you into anything. But in case you're interested, I've got a link for one show I'm watching that's currently airing in S. Korea. It's called: MY LOVE FROM THE STARS. First link are some pictures of the actors from google. Second link is the website where you can access this wonderful story. (This handsome alien has some awesome powers & I loved the flashbacks. It's beautifully shot! It is currently airing in Korea up to episode 4.) www.google.com/search?q=You+wh… TV Episodes: www.dramago.com/korean-drama/m…
If you want some more suggested KDramas from me that I've watched and enjoyed, let me know. Oh, you can get a lot of these dramas if you have Netflix or HuluPlus. Let me know what you think.
Just finished re-watching the entire series... Of ALL the awful cliffhangers for it to be cancelled on... I cried at the end of S4. I haven't actually seen the miniseries/TV movie thing they did to finish it a little better... not sure I want to, honestly... Just... sad everywhere >_<
I had to FAV this one, especially since it's one of my all time favorite science fiction series. I was so bummed when it was cancelled. Fortunately they did a couple of minis to wrap things up.
Anyway, I didn't only FAV it because I like the series, but more so because I love the attention to detail you've given the image. Details such as the tendons rippling in the arm John is using to hold Aeryn. The colors are so beautiful and the pose is awesome. Great job.
When shows were getting very samey, Farscape came along and dared to be different. Every Sc-Fi magazine we have in the UK had a cover basically saying 'We Love Farscape', you'd think someone would have bought a clue and not cancelled it.
I knooooow! That show was a phenomenon & played with every emotion I had. No show has drawn so much out of me. I cried for almost a week (as if a real loved one died) from "Dog with A Bone" (i think that's the ep) where Aeryn got shot as Crichton's new bride.
And the fanfics that came from this show were amazing. One fanfic written by an 18-year old had me crying for a week, too.
I've drawn, did 2 music videos, written a fanfic and a fanfic spin-off. I even went to a Farscape convention in Burbank, CA. I never, ever dedicate myself to media... not like that. I was consumed.
I'm hoping Farscape takes off like Star Trek did. Star Trek benefited so well... hopefully those that love Farscape will catapult it into more shows and movies.
Farscape was just a brilliant series. It had that whole 'Alice in Wonderland' thing going on. It was the first show to do aliens that didn't look humanoid, something I'd wanted Trek to do for years. It had a brilliant notion of using alien swear words, which I think freed up the dialogue and made it more natural. It also gave John this kind of 'going native' learning curve. Also, the pop culture references. The stunning chemistry between John and Aeryn. Splendid twists in plot and style. Just brilliant.
