This is my thank you-- right now-- to those of you who have :+fav:ed this piece of art. :tighthug::heart:

Spock and Uhura of the starship Enterprise. I absolutely love this couple. And I hope the new Star Trek sequels will explore and keep their relationship.

I did this pic freehand in a few of hours for :iconstartrekjunkies:.

This is my third Star Trek pic. This show has captivated me for over 3 decades and sparked my love for Sci-Fi.

You really captured the emotions of the scene, and ohhh ... Spock's complex and sad expression. Great freehand work, wow!

so you didnt measure with your pencil just watched and redrawed Ohhh, I love these questions. I googled Spock and Uhura. Saw the perfect picture. Cropped the outer edges and turned the color pic to black and white (that's the secret to see the tone change).

Had the jpg on my laptop computer screen (can change size through viewer). Took my paper sketched a rectangular shape (A4size 8-1/2"x11") landscape, taking 2/3rds of it.

I didn't measure with my pencil. But your eye can be trained to see where his ear, edge of shoulder, his eyes & eyebrows relating to her forehead line up with the rectangular and themselves... by eyeballing. These types of pictures are easier to draw. Portraits take a lot more concentration, application, and sometimes literal pencil measurements.

Hope this makes sense.

As long as you keep drawing, you'll be okay. It comes easier as more practice takes place.
